Chicken is more protein dense than steak/beef and cheaper too but it tastes boring as hell unless you prep it and marinate it etc. and even then it is still so dry. So as someone trying to get muscle I opt to just buy steaks because they are more tasty and easier to flavour, I don't mind the cost. If I need cheap I could just buy cheap bulk mince (especially the ones on sale because they are about to expire) and cook something with that

Another problem with chicken is you gotta cook it properly or you get FOOD POISONED HURT at least steak is more forgiving in that sense and you can eat it more rare

yeah i cant cook for shit so i cant really comment. i cooked chicken well like once and was never able to repeat it. sad being so incompetent. i tend to overcook it.

Although one caveat I forgot to mention is that red meat is not good to have too regularly and gotta be careful about tranny and saturated fat levels.

Fish is also a good choice for protein and omega 3 though I could never like the taste, except I like calamari and prawns

Yeah steak or mince is easier to cook. Mince is hard to burn at least in my experience, steak is actually considered by many to be better rare/a little undercooked but if you cook it well done its still fine (though a lot of snobs bash well done, I think rare is better but well done is fine)
