some say there's a small light emitted when a sperm fertilizes an egg, maybe that's when the soul gets in? i don't think there's anything special about a uterus that does this, it's just an environment for the baby to be formed. how does the immaterial plane know that it should attach a soul, idk, i'm not god so i can't say!

you're implying that there is a magic signal in the uterus that when a baby is born it opens up space for a new soul, I would argue the universe is local until proven otherwise

alzheimers losing their memory just means that soul/body connection is disrupted due to damage to the brain tissue. if you damage a capacitor on the radio, it might start playing the music wrong. it "forgets" the song, starts playing the wrong thing.

also, there's actually no evidence that supports the idea that memory is stored in the brain. actually, there's a lot of problems with the brain=computer model, we don't even have a plausible way that memories could be encoded. it can't be stated hard enough that we do not know shit about consciousness. everything we know about the brain is basically just guess work, damage to x leads to loss of y, therefore x is responsible for y functioning. think about a caveman dissecting a radio, it doesn't understand that the radio is reproducing a signal and it's not actually storing or creating the music itself. no matter how much he fucks with the components, he won't figure it out.

with alzheimer you forget who you are because the neurons are damaged, it's not like you still know who you are but you cannot communicate it, the very memory gets erased from your "soul" because the brain is damaged therefore we can assume that there is no realm outside of your brain, alzheimer patients don't feel trapped in their body they stop recognizing themselves

what if you got one of those japanese automated food dispensers that actually cooks food. then you could just doordash that. someone just needs to buy a factory of those and have one guy operate it and hand it to the doordash driver.

>therefore the "soul" is nothing more than the brain itself

i don't see how that follows. the way i think of it is: the brain is like a radio, it sends and receives a signal from the soul that's somewhere on the immaterial plane. if the brain gets damaged, that affects the signal and disrupts the body/soul connection. the radio plays the songs, but it's not the song itself or the origin of the song.

explain alzheimer then, when your brain is damaged also your perception is damaged, therefore the "soul" is nothing more than the brain itself

then surely you can tell me where he's located? can you measure him? tell me what he's made of exactly? no, science can't do that. they're just like "ah, it's somewhere in here in this chaos of the brain". it takes like 10 seconds of observing your own experience to know that you have a soul.
