^ this is just relativist, non-sense. im not trying to deny anyone's lived experience. but the fact remains that if you isolate yourself, shun every kind of relation except online depressives, remain unemployed, never develop any real world experience, goals, or life plans, don't study, spend all your time gaming or doom scrolling, then you will lack an immense amount of knowledge of how the world really is.

that means you will not be able to participate objectivity on many subjects. these could be topics like: how the economy is going, the workforce, how practical employment is, retirement, health, whatever. people in the cave will have an answer for you but it will most likely be a wrong one.

i also see a little of the problem with addiction centres here:
1. people who aren't broken leave wizchan
2. the ones who are most broken stay
3. over time the site concentrates broken people, creating the false illusion that things are worse than they are

cant say ive ever had pleasant experiences with "tech chan" people. they're usually the most insufferable neckbeards imaginable and have a dunning-kruger lack of ability on top of it. i think the only worse place ive seen is /r/programming but they're pretty well tied in the types of people they attract.

i'm just glad matty's getting stuff done. the last soupchan was... a different story.

^^ we're all in plato's cave. wizkids were on one side of the cave, you were on the other side, and you and they were shown two different shadows. you think your shadows are more true than theirs because it's more positive and life affirming, but you are just as deluded as them. you both simply take your lived experience as reality and base your beliefs on what you've experienced. if people treated you kindly your entire life, you come out believing that people are fundamentally kind. if people treated you like shit, you believe the opposite. that's all there is to it. your experience don't match theirs, so you have trouble accepting their beliefs. if you were bullied and treated like shit, if you had panic attacks when going outside, you would understand the wizardly urge to become a shut-in, but you fundamentally lack these experiences, your life was different so you believe different things and have different "solutions".
