there's a legit lot of linguistic easter eggs in the japanese spoken version of anime. all the different honorifics but also if you're listening to what they say you notice that some speakers repeatedly use weird turns of phrasing. subtitles miss a lot of context. like there's stuff that isn't translatable without a big explanation box. so they just omit it. some words also have different interpretations. so a translator can choose the wrong version and the scene ends up not even making sense.

sometimes they also directly use subtitles as a way to censor what the characters are saying. so there might be heavy swearing or lewdness and they use tamer versions of words. not turning into a japanese fag. i dont speak it but you start to notice the patterns.
