Yeah that would be fun tinkering with XP and trying to make today's stuff run on it. There are even today a fair number of businesses still using XP. It was a better time, bro. A glorious time

XP is actually so fucked up in so many ways. I just remember how it doesnt support multiple network cards. It's file system is also incredibly slow. If you virtualize it and run it on SSDs it should be able to download fast and write to disk fast. But its so unoptimised that disk writing is terrible.
People tend to look at it through rose colored glasses but it had terrible UX. Apparently the server version (win 2000?) was much better at that time. Different code base, but had fixed most of the bugs that XP still had. Vista fixed a lot of stuff after that but they fucked up the UX so much that most people didnt want to use it.
