Is this website seriously just wizchan but without images? I used to post on wiz but I eventually stopped because everyone there was depressing. My fellow wizzies need to lighten up

^ sorta, it's mostly the same crowd that browses wizchan, but the rules are more lax. just think of it as a place to share your feels and shower thoughts, whether they're depressing or happy.

cant say ive ever had pleasant experiences with "tech chan" people. they're usually the most insufferable neckbeards imaginable and have a dunning-kruger lack of ability on top of it. i think the only worse place ive seen is /r/programming but they're pretty well tied in the types of people they attract.

^ a lot of them are obsessed with the "aesthetics" of tech and programming, the appearance of being an elite hacker rather than actually being one. the r/programming crowd is different, it's actual working professionals, not posers that endlessly tinker with their linux ricing setup and have a lain wallpaper.

^ yeah you summed it up well. i used to think the aesthetic was cool when i was younger. but ah... no one thinks its cool. i have really fucked myself career wise going into tech. i regret it.

^ if tech doesn't work out, you can always pivot to being a therapist, you seem really good at it :^)
