^ don't let the terrorists win and remove the freedoms for everyone. allow people to post images unreviewed if they have a post history.

^ no ones post history is old enough yet but otherwise it could work. the issue is people becoming sleeper agents and then posting horrible shit. the person who posted gore last night had 40 mana so they at least made 50 mana worth of activity. always one faggot who has to ruin it.

the mana system is incredibly elegant when it comes to these problems though. because long time posters end up having an incentive not to be fuck tards and they need to do so to have enough mana to break the rules anyway. so i do think your idea could work long term. at the moment the only classifier running is for nudity. i disabled the gore one.

^ you're just reinventing reddit karma lol

not really. reddit karma is a simple number that increases based on community upvotes. its more like a popularity metric tied to a posters account. the number is public.

mana represents relationships between posters, it gets weighted based on math and financial accounting, and isn't a simple good / bad metric. its also tied to a system that lets it be spent like a currency which is very different to "reddit karma".

reddit karma can be used to gate you from certain communities, and is almost exclusively used as a bot metric. which is incredibly ironic because the purpose of every reddit bot is to farm karma. it can also be "spent" in order to make bad posts, but since those sink to the bottom no one ends up seeing them anyway. yes my comparison was flippant; I do think the mana system is far superior, but don't fall into the trap of thinking that its elegance will keep bad actors out.
